Oregon, the jewel of the Pacific Northwest. You can experience mountains, desert, rain forest, plains, and coastline all in the same day. With our bountiful winter rains and warm summers we are blessed with a wonderfully temperate climate and some of the finest growing conditions for cannabis.
Measure 91 legalized cannabis for the recreational consumer in Oregon. One benefit is that now for Oregonians (21 and over) possession of less than one ounce for recreational use is completely legal. They are also allowed to grow up to four cannabis plants per household. This means that there are many craft, or “backyard”, growers putting a few ladies in the ground this year!
How can you tell if your sungrown flower is up to par? Well, read below for more info!
This event highlights the craft grower by giving them a venue to show off their amazing flowers!
Who can enter this event:
- Anyone that legally grows Cannabis in their home or on their property
- Home growers with medical cards that sell cannabis overages to dispensaries
- Home growers that sell unbranded & unlabeled cannabis to dispensaries
Companies with existing branding and marketing are barred from competing, this is an event for amateur/home growers interested in showing off their beautiful works.
This is a great networking event as well! Not only can you show off your gorgeous flower, but you can get your name out there! The industry will always be looking for more producers (or hiring garden managers!) so having some connections is definitely worth your time and effort!
Samples will need to be dropped off by May 27 at the latest for lab analysis and judging.
All samples submitted will receive a basic laboratory analysis plus copies of all hand-written judge sheets with scoring and comments. All winners will receive a full compliance laboratory analysis, which includes cannabinoid and terpene profiling!
Participants will be able to win awards for Top Tier Ribbon (1st Place); a Second Tier Ribbon (2nd Place); and a Third Tier Ribbon (3rd Place) as determined by the judges. The Oregon Homegrown Challenge will present an Award Ceremony on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Hi-Fi Music Hall, located in Eugene at 44 E 7th Ave in Eugene (corner of 7th Avenue & Willamette Street).
